I have always dreamed of travelling to Australia. By plane or by boat or whatever. But ever since I started travelling and photographing, I have wanted to come here.
I finally arrived last November.
Australia is an absolutely divine country, with a divine climate and spectacular places.
If I had to photograph everything, I would have needed to stop every 30 seconds. I could have stayed for years.
I would have loved to, believe me!
Nonetheless, during certain times, patience is required. You must try to carry more things in your heart than in your camera.
…and it’s still beautiful.

Tasmania

Tasmania was one of the two decisive points of the journey to Australia. I had planned to stay here as long as possible. My goal was to visit the most remote areas. I wanted to discover the marvellous wildlife that can only be found on this small island, which is part of Australia. Alice Springs offers unique wildlife, too.
…and I was not disappointed.
Endless roads with nothing and animals I have never seen before. I was also greeted by the arrival of summer with warm days and glorious sunshine.

Wildlife
Photographing all of Tasmania’s wildlife would be a real feat. You would need to stay on the island for a long time. You would have to explore every nook and cranny in Australia.
Just getting to Cradle Mountain was a satisfaction (I would have had to wait until January 2025 for organised tours!).
But seeing the Tasmanian devils was the most important moment of all.
I must have taken 5000 photos of them 😉

Even though the little devil got all my attention, it’s undeniable that when travelling through Tasmania you will find that there are an infinite number of colorful bird species that populate the island, and other incredible animals like the wombat (super cute!) or the quoll. The diversity of wildlife is one of the most fascinating aspects of Australia.
Unfortunately, if you travel for hours in the forest, you will see many dead animals on the side of the roads.
This is a sad reality.
We recommend that you always keep to the least speed limit, especially in the evening and at night.
Tasmanian and Australian wildlife in general is mainly nocturnal and moves at nightfall.
We must try to respect these islanders by avoiding driving in an obscene manner.

Perth and Rottnest Island
Perth is also a wonderful Australian city with so much beauty surrounding it. I enjoyed my time in Australia immensely.
You can really breathe a peaceful air here. There are so many young people. The Swan River, then green spaces, cycle paths, and walkways between the skyscrapers create a lively environment. Then Rottnest Island is a dream, even if there are many, too many tourists here.
I didn’t stay long, but I had a good feeling.

Rottnest Island is renowned for its quokkas. In truth, it’s the white sandy beaches and blue sea that make you forget everything else. Being a part of Australia, it offers stunning landscapes.
Maybe when I go back I will leave these cute little animals alone and enjoy the island’s beautiful beaches more.

Alice Springs and Northern Territory
This was the place where I had to stay longer. I stayed much longer because Brisbane, the next destination, had heavy storms. I preferred to enjoy this heat rather than get wet or stay locked in the hotel. Alice Springs in Australia is often sunnier.
Then in Alice Springs I would have stayed forever to be honest…
Despite everything I love it.
I met so many people and saw so many wonderful things all around…
…and I like the heat.

It is undeniable that this area of Australia also has an endless amount of incredible wildlife to offer. Exploring Australia’s diverse wildlife was a thrilling experience.
First and foremost are the kangaroos. They are something of a symbol of Australia. I also encountered many colorful and incredible birds. I saw them in protected areas and parks. I also photographed them along the roads between the desert and the canyons.

I think I travelled over 1500 km on the roads I spoke of. It was under the sun with no phone reception or radio signal.
For the drive to Uluru, you only have to consider 3 petrol pumps. Enjoy the wonderful rest stops. There are some with bathrooms with running water and toilet paper.
It’s an amazing experience to stop in the middle of nowhere. Listen to the silence of the wind. Smell the Australian countryside.
Nothing like this!

Sydney

Sydney is something absurd. You can’t understand how beautiful it is until you’re there. You need to walk around a bit. You might stay there for a few days in Australia.
To keep a city of 5 million people so tidy is truly unique.
But then those colorful boats, the sea and Manly beach, how beautiful.
…and I repeat that I haven’t seen anything yet…
…I am at the end of my photo story. I’d like to make a small mention of a specialty that I discovered on this trip. It is Australia.
Barramundi is a typical Canberra fish (I hope they explained it to me correctly) with a unique flavor.
I had it at the hotel in Alice Springs with walnut cream. It came with a side of steamed vegetables. You can’t imagine how good it was.
It was accompanied by local white wine.
Here in Sydney, I’ve eaten barramundi in simple roadside restaurants, but I have to say the flavour is always excellent.
